3 Reasons I Believe Barca Can Still Win LaLiga. 1

Reason Number 1: Pedro González López. 1

Reason Number 2: Real Madrid’s Fixtures List 1

Reason Number 3: The Tight Point Difference. 2

When Kylian Mbappe joined the capital side in Madrid, the la opinión más común(most common opinion) was it was over for Barcelona. But the Blaugrana proved them wrong with a banger start of the season.

The rotation caused the Barcelona side to drop points in November, and Madrid was back on top (still today). Football fans were saying on Twitter that the league was over yet again in January because of a significant difference in points between the first (Real Madrid) and third (Barcelona) teams.

Though las tornas aún están por cambiarse(tables are yet to be turned), the point gap has been closed down: Real Madrid are on 50 points, Atletico Madrid on 49, and FC Barcelona are on 48.

You might wonder, ‘When did that happen?’ After both Madrids drew at the Bernabeu and Barca won against Sevilla 4-1. Speaking of the difference, it creates a perfect chance for Barca to get back to winning the league. How? Let me talk about that in detail.

Reason Number 1: Pedro González López

It’s a joy to watch Pedri play. I am lucky to watch him play twice a week.

Not just that he is a joy to watch but the Barca’s number-eight is a highly impactful player. Whenever Barca struggles, it is he who makes things work. Remember that game against Getafe? Blaugrana was struggling to play that deep-laying defense. They were defending like their lives depended on it.

But Pedri was the one breaking the defense through chips over the head and line breaking passes in the half spaces. Barcelona, with the help of Pedri, did create big chances, but couldn’t put it past the sticks.

He is a magician and his teammates call him Pedri Potter(Though he has said that he has never watched Harry Potter). Anyhow, he is the clutch player of the team who knows how to perform well under pressure. If the forwards can finish the large number of chances he creates, Barcelona can definitely win the league.

Reason Number 2: Real Madrid’s Fixtures List

I am not gonna lie, Real Madrid has a tight list of fixtures. The first are the two qualifying legs against the current English Champions, Manchester City, and then there are other tough LaLiga games against improved sides like Osasuna, Rayo Vallecano, and more.

Being a Barca fan, I would watch the games on my high-speed Cox Internet. You must have gotten the idea that my exceptional viewing experience is non-negotiable, and I have trusted Cox to deliver it for years. Its network reliability, affordable plans, and customer service of Cox en español are the icing on the cake.

Anyway!

Adding salt to the injury (sal a la herida) is their depleted backline: Antonio Rudiger, Eder Militao, David Alaba, Lucas Vazquez, and more are sidelined for the first leg of Manchester City vs. Real Madrid at the Etihad Stadium.

However, the Pep’s side is struggling too with the defense this season after losing out on Rodri and his defensive talisman Ruben Dias to injuries. Though I can’t even predict the winning side, one thing I am sure of is that there are going to be goals– and a lot of them.

How is it going to help Barca? The Champions League is the most important for Ancelotti, and he will likely rotate his already thin squad in LaLiga, which can result in dropped points.

Reason Number 3: The Tight Point Difference

It wasn’t looking good (no se veía genial) for Blaugrana in January as Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid both were on a winning streak while the Blaugrana were dropping points. On the flip side, I have been saying that the league is long and anything can happen. Well, that ‘anything’ has happened. Barca is just two points away from Real Madrid, which has a highly depleted squad after the injuries.

Blugrana is in great form, and in their Sevilla meeting, they have broken the 83-year-old record of scoring 43 goals in just 11 games in 2025. They are the best offensive team in the world right now, and their goal-scoring instincts support the argument.

Also, one El Clasico is remaining that is going to be played at Barcelona’s current home at Montjuic and a match against Atletico at Metropolitano. They certainly have the league in their own hands, and if they win the rest of the games, the league will be won.

So, these are the reasons I believe Barca has the chance to lift the trophy! Am I being reasonable?

Anyhow, as I mentioned earlier, there are 15 matches left to be played. Though anything can happen for the top-three sides, the Culers are utterly back in the league after a brief period of struggle.
